About Us

Journey to Presence was birthed from a deep, personal longing, not just for a consistent, Spirit-led life, but for a community of believers walking the same path of faith.

In a world that moves fast and pulls us in many directions, it’s easy to feel spiritually disconnected, overwhelmed or alone. But transformation happens when you journey alongside others who share the same desire: to dwell in God’s presence, to grow in His truth and to live fully through His Spirit.

What began as a quiet prayer became a vision and that vision has grown into Journey to Presence, not just a brand, but a Christ-centered movement. It’s a space for those who are hungry for more of God, committed to intentional living and ready to pursue healing, wholeness and purpose in His presence.

"At one point in my walk with Christ, I felt spiritually dry, even though I was doing all the 'right' things. I realized that a deeper, more consistent connection with God wasn’t just about discipline, it was about living daily in His presence and doing so within a supportive community.

Through prayer, trials and grace, I came to understand that God doesn’t just call us to visit His presence, He calls us to dwell there.

I created Journey to Presence because I believe that many people, just like me, are yearning for more than surface-level faith. We long to experience God in everyday life, to be whole in mind, body and spirit and to do it together.

This space is my offering to you: a sacred invitation to pause, be still and discover the richness of God’s presence. Whether through a retreat, a Bible study or a hiking trail, my hope is that your journey here leads you closer to the heart of God.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of Journey to Presence provides governance, oversight and strategic guidance to ensure the organization operates with integrity, accountability and sustainability.

While members come from diverse backgrounds and personal journeys, the Board collectively upholds the values and mission of Journey to Presence, supporting its purpose of holistic growth and transformation grounded in faith, service, and community impact.

Vanessa Gugu Kubheka

Vanessa serves as the Executive Director for Organizational Development, Corporate Affairs and Finance at Journey to Presence. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of South Africa (UNISA).

Her professional and spiritual journey has shaped a deep passion for people, growth and healthy structures that allow God’s vision to unfold. Through her work experience, she has grown in supporting people, strengthening teams and creating order that nurtures purpose, sustainability and impact.

At the heart of all she does is her personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Gugu is committed to continually growing in Christ, allowing His presence to guide her daily walk, refine her character and deepen her faith.

Her desire is to serve with love and humility, helping to build a ministry where people can encounter God, grow in their faith, and walk in the purpose He has prepared for their lives.

Sylvester Martin

Sylvester serves as the Executive Director: Operations & Logistics at Journey to Presence. He brings extensive experience in operations management, project coordination, infrastructure and logistics, supporting the effective delivery of the organization’s programs and initiatives.

His professional journey has equipped him with practical skills in planning, coordination and resource management, enabling him to contribute to building sound systems that support sustainability and impact. Sylvester plays a key role in ensuring that operational processes are well-organized and aligned with the vision of Journey to Presence.

He is continuing to grow in his relationship with Christ, allowing this journey to shape his approach to service, responsibility and personal development.

Sylvester serves Journey to Presence with commitment and humility, supporting a ministry where people can encounter God, grow in their faith and walk in purpose.

Kehumile Conny Mongale

Kehumile serves as a Non-Executive Director of Journey to Presence and is currently working towards a degree in Theology. She is also employed as a Retentions Consultant in the medical aid industry, bringing experience in people engagement, responsibility and accountability.

Conny has walked with Christ from a very young age. Although her spiritual discernment developed over time, her love for God and the things of God continued to grow. Even during seasons of struggle and learning, she remained committed to her faith. In her thirties, she began receiving deeper revelation through Scripture, which awakened a strong desire to truly know God and understand His Word more fully. This hunger for God has led her to deepen her faith through learning, prayer and active service.

Conny has played a significant role in serving the youth in her church community and continues to live out her calling as a soldier of Christ, sharing the Word of God and encouraging others in their faith journey.

As a Non-Executive Director, she offers thoughtful support, spiritual insight and accountability. She serves with humility and faithfulness, supporting a ministry that creates spaces where people can encounter God, grow in their faith and walk in purpose.
